In this episode, Brett M. Judd MSW - founder of the Profitable Ethical Practice coaching programs and creator of the Practice Leadership Formula discusses the 4 main killers of dental practices.
Modern dental practices can be high stress and mentally exhausting. Staff production, Cash flow demands, patient retention and referral all add up.
High Production Teams are possible, even in the time of Millennial staff when you employ the Practice Leadership Formula.
In this opening episode, Brett talks about why many are burning out and leaving practice early, and how you can ensure your career is active, thriving, and without the emotional burdens.

Equal is not fair.
Motiovation goes far beyond money and the pooled bonus. It is not about extra earned PTO. The only way to truly motivate your teams is to Say YES you are there for them and to meet their individual needs so taht they will meet yours and the collective needs of the practice.

Equal is not fair.
There is no fairness in reality. Fair is not equal.
The 80/20 rule of fairness. College group work. Who is getting the bonus without putting in the work?
One of the most fair things a practice owner can do is learn to be disagreeable. YES! stop pleasing everyone and you will get more done. The art of it is being agreeably disagreeable.
The book David and Goliath by Malcolcm Gladwell is a great read. If you haven’t read it yet, or listened to it on audible, I strongly suggest you get the book and discover what your personal Goliaths are.
The notion of fairness and group motivation is one that is in large part a Goliath that is killing your practice. Be a David. Be disagreeable.
Individual Motivation is the only motivation that will work.
It is supposed to be fair, shoudn’t it? Fair is a place that you go to see the animals.
A.R.E. you there for me? This question is the most profitable question you can ever say yes too. It is the motivator your teams need to produce as you need them too.
Individual engagement will tell you who to motivate and how to get the most from your staff.
